Overview

“Give me a hug” is a mental health app that assisted with a therapy pillow to help people who are struggling with mental disorders to take mental health assessments and therapy course anywhere and anytime.

The pillow is a normal pillow when you're not interacting with it. The concept of it is to surpass human-centered design, in which people can only trigger the system by interacting (hugging) with the machine. Hug to sync the pillow with the app system, test current mental status and take recommend therapy course.

Pillow Therapy Concept

Pillow therapy device for "Give Me a Hug" was inspired by “Blendie”, a machine therapy designed by Kelly Dobson, the blender requires the user to simulate the mechanical noise produced by the mixer as a starting and operating condition. It explores the emotional component of machines and how they can interact with people in ways other than what they were designed to.

As long as you hug the therapy pillow, it will continue to provide testing services and treatments.

Why

Huy Can Ease Stress

When you cuddle with someone you care about, your body releases a hormone called oxytocin that calms you and makes you more likely to deal better with stress. For example, you might laugh, distract yourself, or try to solve a problem. It also can lower your blood pressure and lower levels of the “stress hormone” cortisol, which also can help.
